Chivalry 2, a new first-person fighting game set in the Medieval era by Torn Banner Studios, was released today, shortly following an open beta that took place last weekend. To mark the release of Chivalry 2, Torn Banner Studio released a trailer that gives players one last look into the game’s mechanics. The trailer showcased cinematic previews and gameplay while highlighting some rare and unique situations players may find themselves on the battlefield. Chivalry 2 embraces its setting, allowing players to participate in wide-scale medieval battles, as shown in the launch trailer. With such weapons like swords, shields, and bows, players can fight against each other in frantic conflicts in a mix of game modes like team deathmatch and objective-based missions.
A New Medieval Combat Experience
Chivalry 2 features combat filled
with heavy strikes, feints, and a mix of offensive and defensive maneuvers used
to overwhelm opponents or survive uneven skirmishes. Torn Banner pit players in
the role of knights and soldiers, fighting for victory for their separate
factions. The game features eight maps, ranging from castle sieges, towns, and
even arenas. On historically authentic battlefields, the game features unique combat
scenarios, including being downed but still capable of fighting instead to earn
your redemption by helping take out the enemy in a last stand type of scenario.
With these additions to the game, Chivalry II continues to highlight its
combat and battles. According to Torn Banner Studios, the game is not focused
on just being a sword fighting simulation. The game allows you to pick up and
use anything they can find, allowing players to adjust and adapt to a map or
situation with the items or weapons they find. Along with the combat and
gameplay, the game presents such wide scale conflicts the players can partake
in, with the weaponry, catapults, and maps that can support up to 64 players at
any time. The game overall showcases solid historical inspiration as a
cinematic experience that Torn Banner Studios has built upon by building up its
first original game, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
The Release and Reception of Chivalry 2
As it reached the release date of June 8th, players are now just beginning to dive into the full game. Those who have seen the trailer before and are now playing the game have voiced positive feedback. With fan and player reception over the trailer on the weekend and release, Torn Banner Studios has proven to make a solid sequel to Chivalry. Its historically inspired background, setting, and conflicts have enthralled players all around the world. The game is proving to feature strong, fun, and competitive gameplay with a background that has been impacted by the historical genre.
