Since its infancy, the gaming industry has always thrived on the very concept of community. Gamers from all around the world have bonded over their shared love of games, from experiencing online competitive and cooperative titles together to sharing their personal experiences found in single-player titles. But above all else, there has always been a great sense of camaraderie in the industry, and through it, players have often come together to support worthwhile causes.
Among the many charitable organizations that gamers have rallied behind is Extra Life, a non-profit that aims to help raise money and awareness for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception way back in 2008, Extra Life has gone on to raise over $70 million for various children’s hospitals around the nation and, through the players that support it, continues to raise more money every year. There are now over 100,000 patrons that have contributed through Extra Life, with the numbers only growing! This year, Epoch XP is among those plugging in to help raise money!
Epoch XP Is Helping
Just like the gaming industry as a whole, Epoch XP cares a lot about its community. Since our own start, we have stressed the importance of bringing others closer together through a shared love of both history and gaming, and that’s why we’ve partnered with Extra Life. Through our partnership, we are planning to host future charity live streams and other events where we will be raising money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, host giveaways, and more all while streaming some of our favorite historical video games. We find that sharing our love for historical video games via livestream will be a fantastic way to bring the community closer together and spread the word about Extra Life and its excellent cause.
Want to participate but can’t donate? We’re also looking for team members to join our Extra Life team! Follow this link and click “Join Our Team” to become part of Extra Life and Team Epoch XP!
