A brand new trailer for King’s Bounty II just recently released and showcases some additional gameplay for the title. Alongside the trailer release, developer 1C Entertainment and Koch Media announced that it is finally available for pre-order for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC across all major physical and digital retailers. 1C Entertainment and Koch Media shared that the game would be available in two different physical versions: Day One Edition and King Collector’s Edition. There were also three digital editions of the game announced: Day One Edition, Lord’s Edition, and Duke’s Edition.
Exclusive Pre-Order Content
All customers who pre-order any version of the game will receive an exclusive digital Day One Edition Pack, which includes the Armored Princess’s Shield, Elite Guard Premium Pack, Firehand Golems, Hounds of War Warhorse, and Flaming Eagles. PS4 players will additionally receive a new theme based on King’s Bounty II artwork. The digital-only Lord’s Edition features plenty of additional content on top of the base game, including the Rod of Deception, Frosthammer, Staff of Harmony, Turant’s Sword, Armor of the Hollow, and Heroes & Villains Premium Pack.
The Duke’s Edition, which is only available for purchase on PC on the Steam and Epic Games Store, includes the base game, all content found in the Lord’s Edition, and an exclusive digital artbook and the King’s Bounty II OST. Customers who purchase the King Collector’s Edition will receive a physical copy of the game, a double-sided poster, a 36-page hardcover art book, the game’s soundtrack, and a real King’s crown.
Inspired by History
Whilst King’s Bounty II takes place within a fictional fantasy world, the game seems to be heavily inspired by real-world history. The most obvious inspiration is medieval Europe, as the world features architecture, clothing, and weaponry very reminiscent of 14th century Europe.
First launched in 1990 for Microsoft Windows, Apple II, Commodore 64, Amiga, and Sega Genesis, King’s Bounty has been around for over three decades and has established itself as a classic turn-based strategy series. The series is tied directly to Heroes of Might and Magic, which itself is set within a medieval fantasy world that takes some inspiration from real-world medieval history.
King’s Bounty II is set to launch later this Summer on August 24, 2021, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Fans can pre-order the game now to get the aforementioned exclusive content on day-one.
